RELATIVELY SPEAKING - Joan Howard Maurer

Air Date/Released Tuesday, September 6, 1988
Station/Studio Syndicated / Kushner-Locke Co.
Host/Star John Byner
Featuring Miscellaneous Appearances

This game show featured a celebrity panel of 4, in a host-moderated Q&A format, who must guess what celebrity is the relative of the contestant. Guests' prize amounts were awarded based on their ability to fool the panel. Although airing in over 90 markets, it only had a 1-year run, September 1988 to June 1989.

Moe's daughter Joan Howard Maurer was the subject of the episode aired on September 6, 1988. Joan’s connection to her father Moe was determined by only the second panelist, Jamie Farr. (Based on the episode viewed, host John Byner’s initial clue to the panel was much too revealing.) Joan shares a brief home movie clip of herself as a toddler, dancing with her dad.

Jamie Farr, a fan of The Three Stooges, was one of the celebrity speakers at the Stooges’ Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on August 30, 1983.
